Activism
Let Our Voices be Heard
Billy and I both grew up during the Vietnam War era, listening to the daily body count reported by Walter Cronkite, and news of the four massacred students at Kent State on May 4th, 1970. These two events had a profound affect on both of us. Billy had protested against the war in Washington DC, and was lucky enought to escape the draft. I did my part by wearing my POW/MIA bracelet, and writing a school report about Kent State.
So, in 1982, at the height of the Cold War, we became concerned about the increasing number of nuclear weapons that the US and Russia had accumulated and pointed at each other. Billy and I decided to get more involved with ACTIVISM, particularly Nuclear Disarmament.

Our first "march" together, Stop the Arms Race, was on June 12, 1982, in New York City, where one million protesters marched from Central Park to the United Nations. We are proud to have been part of this landmark day in the fight for Nuclear Disarmament.
